Must have at least three years prior experience. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. You will oversee: (1) The service extension function, including staking of lines and approval of work orders (2) The inspection function, including construction work done under contract as well as by cooperative personnel (3) The contracting function, arranging for and oversight of contractors when necessary for distribution construction, joint use of facilities and distribution maintenance requirements (4) The right of way function, including the securing of necessary right of way agreements and forward to Manager of Engineering for processing and (5) Checking of distribution lines for compliance with code clearance of roads, telephone lines, transmission lines and building crossings. You will formulate plans and specifications for distribution facilities, coordinate priorities, and construction schedule with operations. In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for all South Baldwin district operational engineering requirements. In this role, you’ll have the chance to collaborate with the best and brightest and work on innovative and complex projects at the forefront of the industry. At Baldwin EMC, we seek out exceptional talent, provide invigorating work environments and rewarding career development, in pursuit of our mission to deliver the highest quality and most reliable services to our valued customers. But she admits that doesn’t stop her from looking forward to the days when she can live on “island time” all the time.Baldwin Electric Membership Corporation (Baldwin EMC) is looking for a District Engineer to join our growing group of professional engineers. Although she says she wouldn’t mind vacationing to Belize or the Caribbean, somewhere she can enjoy the sand and sun just like at home.ĭobson says she has at least another 15 years of work ahead of her before she can retire. It’s that kindness and laid back nature of the county that keeps Dobson from ever wanting to live anywhere else. Seeing a community come together to support one of its own probably wouldn’t be possible if Baldwin County weren’t such a close-knit environment. Our goal for the next one is $25,000,” Dobson says. Along with her husband and a circle of friends, Dobson has been helping to organize raffles and other fundraisers to help Quinley and his family pay for his medical costs and living expenses while he battles the disease. Lately, a lot of Dobson’s extra time has been devoted to helping out friend and fellow Baldwin County native Bill Quinley, who was recently diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. If the family has free time and the weather is right, that’s where you’ll find them.Įven their family vacations are close to home, because, as Dobson puts it, “why go anywhere else when we’re already in paradise?” Usually they’ll be joined by relatives from Athens, Alabama for a week-long stay at one of the many condos available in Orange Beach. “We have our own secluded little spot close to Ono Island that not a lot of people know about,” she says. Nowadays, she says it’s more about soaking up the sun and enjoying what she calls umbrella drinks. “Things hurt a lot worse when you get older,” Dobson confesses. There was a time when she would try her hand at skiing and other water sports, but not now. Her husband is really into fishing, but she says she’s personally more of a spectator than a fisherman. “When we’re not at the soccer fields watching my daughter, we’re on the water,” Dobson says. The family really enjoys boating and being out on the waters of the Gulf. Her husband of 12 years is a sergeant with the Robertsdale Police Department. In addition to working full time, Dobson is a mother to a 20 year-old son and a 16 year-old daughter. “Between my work and living here all my life, I know a lot of people in the county,” she says. It also helps that many of the faces she sees on a daily basis are familiar to her. Dobson calls herself a people person, which comes in handy in her line of work. For the past 14 years, she’s worked in the insurance field, most recently for an agency in Foley. She grew up in Foley and graduated from Foley High School.

Olivia Cooke was the final main cast member to join the series, portraying Emma Decody. The same month, Max Thieriot was cast as Norman's half brother, Dylan Massett. Shortly after, Freddie Highmore was cast as Norman Bates in September. Vera Farmiga was the first to be cast, as protagonist Norma Louise Bates in August. Keegan Connor Tracy as Miss Blair WatsonĪ&E gave Bates Motel a straight-to-series order in July 2012.Nestor Carbonell as Sheriff Alex Romero.Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, and Nestor Carbonell (left to right) portray Emma Decody, Bradley Martin, and Sheriff Alex Romero, respectively. The first season was released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 17, 2013. Vera Farmiga received particular praise for her performance as Norma Louise Bates, she won the 2013 Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television, and was nominated for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, the 2013 Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series, and the 2013 TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Drama. Bates Motel was renewed for a second season after three episodes of the first season had aired. In its premiere episode, the series broke rating records for an original drama series on A&E, drawing in a total of 3.04 million viewers. The season received positive reviews from television critics. The series takes place in the fictional town of White Pine Bay, Oregon. The series is described as a "contemporary prequel" to the 1960 film Psycho and follows the life of Norman Bates and his mother Norma prior to the events portrayed in the Hitchcock film. The season consisted of 10 episodes and aired on Mondays at 10 p.m. The first season of Bates Motel aired from March 18-May 20, 2013. Here we present a benchmark scRNA-seq dataset that includes 20 scRNA-seq datasets acquired either as mixtures or as individual samples from two biologically distinct cell lines for which a large amount of multi-platform whole genome sequencing data are also available. To be broadly applicable, these should be generated from renewable, well characterized reference samples and processed in multiple centers across different platforms. There is an urgent need for scRNA-seq reference datasets for benchmarking of different scRNA-seq platforms and bioinformatics methods. Right now we’re brining cells over from the hospital about one hour after collection and processing straigh-away, but this is not an efficient use of the technology when the plastic chip holds 8 samples and costs $150 each time.Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is developing rapidly, and investigators seeking to use this technology are left with a variety of options for both experimental platform and bioinformatics methods. The fact that they got such good results is encouraging, we’re working on a project with patient material that needs to be processed immediately for best results. However I suspect that the minimal freezing time and “gentle” protocols will put many users off relying on cell storage until more comprehensive evaluation is undertaken. Only a small number of genes (57) showed greater than 2-fold upregulation (no down regulated genes were reported), suggesting that freezing cells is possible. The frozen cells in questions were fresh cells recovered from whole blood, cryopreserved and “gently thawed” one week later (see Online Methods). ScRNA-seq from frozen cells: In the discussion the authors make a strong statement about the ability to analyse frozen cells: “the ability of GemCode to generate faithful scRNA-seq profiles from cryopreserved samples enables its application to clinical samples”. Multiplets are likely to add significant noise to analysis of single-cell experiments, every single-cell technology has to account for them and cells like to stick together so user probably can’t rely on actually having a single cell suspension in the first place. 28,000 frames were analysed for single-cell encapsulation (7 seconds of video, which only represents about 1.5% of the time your Chromium is actually making GEMs) but the multiplet rate was 16% higher than expected – I don’t think the authors delve deeply enough into the reasons for this. In these a Nikon microscope equipped with a high-speed camera capable of capturing 4000 frames per second imaged GEMs as they were created. The multiplet rate “approximately followed a Poisson distribution” as assessed by imaging experiments (Supplementary Fig. What the impact is on experiments I do not know – but this is an area several labs are focusing on. 1a), however it is not clear how this rate changes at 20k, 30k, 40, or 50k (the maximum loading recommended). The 1.6% multiplet (doublet, triplet, or higher) rate appears low, but as cell numbers increase so does the multiplet rate, the authors describe a linear relationship of multiplet rate to cell loading from 1000-10000 cells (Supplementary Fig. Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh (TAM) - 1997ġ2,000 of these were produced. This was one of Apple's lower moments, featuring severely compromised hardware design. The Apple MacIntosh LC series were sold as Apple’s upper low end computers for the mid 1990’s. This was the first colour compact Macintosh computer. The pictured one has a speaker cutout on the left side for better sound. Two cases actually came out for the Classic II. The Classic was an adaptation of Terry Oyama's and Jerry Oyama's Macintosh 128K industrial design. The SE/30 sported the capacity for expandable RAM and a 1.44mb floppy disk drive as standard. With this model, Apple did away with the 5.25" floppy in the Apple II line and switched over completely to the 3.5" floppy. Space for an internal hard disk and advanced SCSI support were some of the selling features of the SE. The Plus version of the Macintosh originally featured the same beige colour as the original Macintosh, but in 1987 was changed to the warm gray Platinum colour that would characterize Apple computers for years to come. The first 50,000 of these came with Steve Wozniak's signature silkscreened on the front. In the first demonstration of the product at MacWorld, Steve Jobs pulled the very first Macintosh out of the bag and demonstrated product features that most of us take for granted now. The Macintosh, for most of us, was the computer that started it all. The only problem with classifying the IIc as a "portable" computer is the fact that it lacked a portable power supply. The Apple IIc represented Apple's first attempt at both a portable computer and "out-of-the-box" functionality. While Lisa won the legendary race between itself and the Macintosh by being the first desktop computer to market with an intuitive GUI, it flopped with the public due to sticker shock at its $10,000 price tag and a lack of software titles. The Apple IIe keyboard was built in to the computer and did away with the numeric keypad. Image: WikipediaĪpple III - 1980 This next iteration of the Apple computer for business was created primarily to compete with business computing companies like IBM. Colour graphics set the Apple II apart from its rivals on the market. Steve Jobs added the colours to the logo to reflect the Apple II's superior colour output. Although some models were classified as All-In-One, they had separate monitors packaged in the same box.ġ977 saw the invention of both the Apple II and the famous rainbow Apple logo. We chose to highlight those products where the design changes are best appreciated.Īpple has sold "all-in-one" computers that have built-in monitors from its very early days. The list compiled for this article is by no means a complete compilation of all Apple products. Whether or not their inventions were accepted by the marketplace, Apple has consistently put out products that raise the bar for the computer and telecommunications industry. Most have been notable leaps forward, while some were famous flops. With the 25th anniversary of the first Macintosh computer coming up on January 24th, 2009, we're taking a look back in time at the evolution of Apple products. The transmission still shudders on occasion and its get up and go has got up and went. No problems on the trip back except the transmission does not shift as smooth as it had the first 10,000 miles. I didn't drive my van for the next couple weeks then it was time to drive back to AZ. (didn't I just say that the dealership called?)I left the van there overnight and was told that there was nothing wrong and that there is no software update. The mechanic said it was a lie because only the dealership can call Honda Tech. I mentioned that a person stated that they took their van to a dealer and they called Honda Tech and were told that there was a software update. I was told that they never heard of such a thing and that the Odyssy was bulletproof and that they don't pay attention to online complaining. I told them about the transmission issues that I read about the night before my appointment. I took the van into the dealership the day after we reached our destination and they acted like I was totally nuts. The van was terrible going up hill and shuddered when down shifting. (I was utilizing the D4 button when this clunk happened) He said it was safe to drive to Colorado because there was nothing wrong. I was told that there was nothing wrong with my van and he told me to read my manual so I could learn about the D4 button that I should of used while going up hill. The Van was parked and turned off while we waited for a mechanic to take it on a ride. The mechanics at The Honda Dealership in Flagstaff AZ. Mother-in-law, my one year old and I were driving to Colorado from Arizona while ascending up a hill my van violently jerked after a couple of loud clunks and the van lost its ability to keep up with the speed limit ( we were almost rear ended by a Semi truck.) I pulled off the highway at the next exit and called Honda Cares. Hopefully, it will continue to give trouble-free operation. In those regards the 2012 arrangement was better. It also resulted in the loss of the pull-out cupholder/drawer, which was a nice feature to have. The system response is slower and the programming changes they made to the navigation system make it harder to enter a destination. Migrating the radio/CD player to a touchscreen while keeping the joystick/knob controller was a mistake. Our biggest beef, though, is with the infotainment system. The transmission is smoother than the 2012, but Honda has yet to figure out how to make a smooth-shifting transmission.on any car they sell. Personally, I think they are undersized for a 4,500 lb. On the downside, like the 2012 (and our 2003 as well) before it, front brake rotors warp too easily. It also seems a bit quieter than the 2012 was (better active noise control?). Having the built-in vacuum is a nice touch, though we wish it were a bit more powerful. The cylinder shutoff system (VCM) is less noticeable (the 2012's was abysmal). The auto headlights, for example, have better logic for the day/night mode switching, and the instrument lighting switching has been separated from the headlight switching. While the 20 are essentially identical, most of the improvements are behind the scenes in that Honda has generally improved how systems operate. Around town we average about 24 mpg and on the open road we can count on 29-30 mpg running at 70-75 mph. We bought it to replace a 2012 Odyssey that was a disappointment on many levels. We've had this one for about 18 months and 31,000 miles now. His work has appeared in many different national outlets covering trends, new releases, and the stories and innovators behind the spirits. Check the label to be sure, as you don’t want to use a mix that’s gone bad after opening. At the same time, most are shelf stable before opening and can be stored in a cool, dry place until then. Most mixes need to be refrigerated once opened and should be used between 10 and 30 days after opening. Generally, you’ll use 2 ounces of tequila per drink, the same as you would if you were making a homemade version.ĭo you need to keep margarita mixes refrigerated? How much tequila do you add to a margarita mix? The good news is there are different types of mixers to choose from, ranging from sweet to more tart and citrus-driven. In general, a mix might have more sugar than a homemade margarita, but this depends on how you are making it (agave syrup versus triple sec, for example). This depends on the brand, as some are created specifically to offer a low-sugar alternative. FAQs Do margarita mixes have more sugar than a homemade version? It should be tart and a little sweet but not too sugary. A margarita mix will look and taste something like limeade. This might seem obvious, but it should taste good on its own without anything added to it. However, there are still some tequila mixers that aren't loaded with artificial ingredients, and that won't set you back much more than $10. The budget options often use artificial ingredients, but some high-quality craft brands use organic ingredients and work nicely with nearly any tequila. Typically, the mixers with the most premium ingredients will cost more. Others are a little more complex and have specialized flavors, leaning toward spicy or sour, for example, or other fruits such as strawberries. Many of these are fairly straightforward, made with just a few ingredients. Generally speaking, the fewer ingredients, the better when it comes to cocktail mixes. What to Look For in a Margarita Mix Ingredients For all your margarita slushie needs, turn to Kelvin Slush Company's Margarita Mix. It will blend flawlessly into a frothy sipper and can also stand up to a traditional on-the-rocks version with a pinch of salt. The simple two-ingredient mix is as close to homemade as you can get. It’s not that hard in fact, just ask yourself these few questions: You should have a plan, with resources planned ahead of time. The most important thing is TIMING.ĭo you know which building you are going to build/upgrade after the HQ is finished ? NO? As a rule of thumb, since you are farming after all – you should be good are producing things in large quantities. The above list, therefore, isn’t exactly the order to things – it’s a rough guide. The idea is to max everything before moving on to new HQ lvl. So in order to keep the resources long enough to upgrade big stuff, you need good defenses. The fact is, you are going to get raided whatever your VP is. The plan, in general, upon reaching a new HQ is : If you are farming you need to have a plan. It tends to be very defensive and everything you do while using that method needs to be pretty much planned ahead (this is up to a point true for everything you do in BB- except Scorchers LOL). īy it’s nature, farming is the “slow and steady” method. Farmers and Raiders are players that have taken defense and offense to the extreme and that’s what makes this game one of the most popular games on the market atm – there is more then one way of playing. While you might have an original plan to upgrade your base, chances are – your plan will fall somewhere in the middle of the 3 categories. Raiders – people that raid, every day, all the time and leave their base undeveloped save for Lading Crafts, Troops in them, Armoury ,Radar and Sculptor Gatherers – people that produce some resources and use them to upgrade the small stuff, and wait for Dr T day to do big upgrades after boosting everything, including Resource Reward Master Pieces First of we have :įarmers – people that buff their defenses and mainly produce resources needed to upgrade their base. Perhaps no one has given them exact names, the following terms have already been used on the forums and they are apart of the “lingo”. The Boom Boom Room was famed for its disco dancing in the 1970s as well as for the cabaret singing of Mexican American chanteuse (and Anaheim native) Rudy de la Mor. Now comes the fun part, which is mixing all the tertiary colors. Adding a little white makes them more opaque, which is important when painting on cardboard. (I actually mixed two different blues, one was cooler and one was warmer.) By “mixed” I mean I added white to all of them. Here I have mixed the 3 primaries and 3 secondaries. You can buy as many colors of paint as you want, but to know how to mix them yourself with just the basics is really satisfying.Ģ. You can buy tertiaries out of the bottle, too, but where’s the fun in that? It’s good to learn the theory behind color mixing. I spend most of my time mixing tertiary colors since the primaries and secondaries come right out of the bottle. These are the hundreds of colors that are made by mixing one primary and one secondary, which are by far the most beautiful and interesting colors with the best names.įor example: blue + green = teal, red + orange = coral, purple + red = mauve, yellow + green = lime. Then you have your secondaries (the colors that are made by mixing two primaries): orange, purple and green. You have your primaries: red, yellow and blue. Here is a quick color theory and color mixing overview with a few photos from the video. Start collecting those jam jars! (Click here if you can’t see the video above.)
